We are a coalition of over 200 local and international civil society organisations committed to ending malnutrition in Malawi. As a unified platform, we champion evidence-based nutrition advocacy, foster collaboration, and support government efforts in scaling up sustainable nutrition
CSONA intends to see a Malawi that recognises and prioritises nutrition and realise a transformation.

To coordinate efforts of civil society organizations in scaling up nutrition through advocacy and knowledge exchange for a healthy and productive Malawi.

A Malawi that recognizes, prioritizes, and promotes sustainable nutrition efforts for improved health and increased productivity.

To ensure that every Malawian regardless of age, gender, or location has the right to access safe, nutritious food and the knowledge to make healthy dietary choices, ultimately contributing to national development.
The Food Systems for Food Security Malawi (FS4FS) project is a five-year initiative (2023–2027) that seeks to improve the nutritional status and dietary diversity of women and children in vulnerable communities by promoting resilient, sustainable, and inclusive food systems.
This is a five-year initiative funded by the European Union and implemented by the Civil Society Organizations Nutrition Alliance (CSONA) in partnership with Self Help Africa (SHA).
Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through GIZ, the Food Systems Transformative Initiative (TI) was launched to respond to persistent challenges within Malawi’s food systems.
The Nutrition Smart Communities (NSC) project is a regional initiative implemented in Malawi, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone with the aim of improving food and nutrition security at household and community levels.
