Back in December 2022, CSONA joined hands with partners and stakeholders to mark the Global Day of Action (GDA) for nutrition under the theme “Enhancing Awareness, Action, and Accountability in the fight against Malnutrition & nutrition-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs).”
The event, held at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe, brought together voices from government, civil society, academia, and the private sector. Presided over by the Minister of Health, it was more than just a gathering. It became a space for reflection, accountability, and renewed energy in the fight against malnutrition and nutrition-related NCDs such as diabetes and heart disease.
Through lively discussions, idea sharing, and examples of best practices, participants highlighted the importance of working together and keeping nutrition at the center of Malawi’s development agenda. The day was also a reminder of the vital role civil society continues to play in pushing for action and ensuring commitments translate into real change.
The 2022 GDA left us inspired and reminded us that when we come together, we can move closer to a healthier, more nourished Malawi
